Basic Environmental Information

Cannonville to Hudson Hut and back (2 days)

The Nukakamma PPC Canoe Trail is situated on the Sundays River, and starts and ends in the village of Cannonville, some 40 kms north of Port Elizabeth and just off the N2 highway. The name "Nukakamma," meaning "Grassy water," was given to the Sundays river by the Khoisan people by virtue of the fact that despite the arid terrain the river runs through from it's source in the Sneeuberg mountains, on it's way to the Indian ocean, it's banks are always green and grassy -
