Basic Trail Description

The trail is situated in Mpumalanga Province, outside Middelburg. Can be hiked as circular trail or network of trails. Day one is a 9.5 km and day 2 is 6.7 km in distance. The trail provides breathtaking views over the De Roodekop area. A variety of fauna and flora awaits the hiker e.g. Large blue scilla and wild sweetpea. You will also find the Bushpig and Mountain Reedbuck in abundance.

The hiker can also take a break in the shade of a large, old Withe stinkwood or Buffalothorn tree (ziziphus mucronata). Beautiful, clear fountain streams will have a calming effect on the hiker as well as the many waterfalls, especially after a shower of rain.
