Basic Trail Description:

The Hoerikwaggo Tented Classic is a truly sustainable community project that has developed out of the local community and run by them. The n ame Ho e r i kwa g g o me a n s “Mountain in the Sea”. It is a well planned and constructed trail running along mountain streams and through areas of sandstone mazes.

It passes through beautiful fynbos and along white sandy beaches. The coastline with panoramic views overlooking False Bay and the Cape Peninsula are impressive although distant urban areas are often visible; with its concomitant vehicular noise.

Various historical places en route add to the interest of this magnificent educational trail experience. Hikers start at Cape Town.
